This route acquaints with the history, way of live, culture and nature of the Russian North. You will visit Sergiev Posad, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl — cities of "The Golden Ring", the outstanding architectural monuments of Vologda, Kiril — Belozerskiy Monastery — cradle of Russian Cyrillic Russian write language, Kizhi, and Solovetsky and Valaаm Islands — Pearls of Ladoga Lake. You will also see fabulous cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Program
15 days/14 nights

1 — 3 days. Arrive in Moscow. Accommodation (3 overnights). Sightseeing tour. Excursions: the Kremlin, Historical Centre, Novodevichiy Monastery, Kolomenskoye or Kuskovo.

4 day. Bus trip: Sergiev Posad — Pereslavl Zalessky — Rostov Veliky — Yaroslavl. Excursions: Sergiev Posad: Trinity — and — St. Sergius Lavra, the spiritual centre of the Russian orthodox church; Pereslavl Zalessky: Goritsky monastery; Rostov Veliky: The Rostov Kremlin. Arrive to Yaroslavl. Accommodation (1 overnight).

5 day. Sightseeing tour. Excursions: Ilya the Prophet Church, Spaso — Preobrazhensky Monastery. Bus trip to Vologda. Accommodation (2 overnights).

6 — 7 days Sightseeing tour. Excursions: folk craft workshop (lace, niello), Kirilo — Belozerskiy monastery. Depart by overnight train to Arkhangelsk.

8 day. Arrive in Arkhangelsk. Sightseeing tour. Excursion to the museum of Russian wooden architecture (Malye Karely). Transfer to Solovetsky archipelago. Arrive to Solovetsky archipelago. Accommodation (1 overnight).

9 day. Excursions to the Solovetsky islands and the Monastery, former prisons of GULAG, oar boat trip along channels of island. Transfer to Kem by ship. Depart by overnight train to Petrozavodsk.

10 day. Arrive in Petrozavodsk. Boat excursion to island of Kizhi (Museum of wooden Architecture. Depart by overnight train to Sartavala.

11 day. Arrive to Sortavala. Boat trip to Valaam Archipelago. Excursion Program: : Valaam Monastery. Boat trip through Ladoga Lake to Priozersk. Bus trip to St. Petersburg. Accommodation (4 overnights).

12 — 15 days Sightseeing tour. Excursions: The Hermitage, Peter — and — Paul Fortress. Petergoff summer Palace or town of Pavlovsk. St. Isaac's Cathedral, Petergoff summer Palace is available from May to September.
